An acrobatic architect composes the space with kilos of concrete. Jonas builds towers, the towers turn into a city, a deserted plain, a human. But every time he tries to lay the last stone, his work turns out to be unfinished. He balances dangerously on wobbly towers, jumps on his hands from stone to stone. But whatever he tries: everything remains so stiff and quiet. Until he puts on the concrete: spinning on heavy shoes he orchestrates a small ballet, in a duet with a massive ball he grazes his audience. His whole body he (re)builds. Even when he almost succumbs under the weight, Jonas still just finds the freedom for a duet between toe and pinky. In a world of traveling and tangible sound, he rebuilds the world together with the audience. Circus theater with drumming blocks, a petrified acrobat, and dancing concrete Result: bubbling circus-sound theater where the audience is in the middle. “Just because it looks so simple and abstract, there is so much to imagine. (...) Once again Hanne and Mahlu have a success number in their hands” (Wouter Hillaert, Pzazz) After the successful performances ‘Plock!’ (guest in ’t Blikveld in 2018) and ‘murmur’, ‘KORROL’ forms the final piece of a triptych about art and creating. Cast: Jonas Bollinger / concept & direction: Hanne Vandersteene and Mahlu Mertens / decor: architect Lode De Smet - Van Damme / sound concept: Stijn Dickel (aifoon vzw) / with support from: De Vlaamse government, Miramiro, Perplx, Cirklabo, Circuswerkplaats Dommelhof, C-Takt, CirqEvolution, De Grote Post and Perpodium unnumbered seats
