PIANO STORIES by candlelight (concert Matthias De Jaeger)

PIANO STORIES by candlelight concert Matthias De Jaeger Tijdens Piano Stories by Candlelight takes pianist-composer Matthias De Jaeger you into a special concert full of stories and imagination. Stories that he tells through the piano, but also stories that come to life between the music — with words, personal thoughts, and the inspiration behind his compositions. In the warm glow of hundreds of candles, an evening unfolds that is much more than a traditional piano concert. Each composition forms a new chapter: sometimes small and fragile, sometimes melancholic and hushed, then again intense, captivating, and surprisingly energetic. Alongside familiar music, Matthias also brings new compositions during Piano Stories: new music and new stories that find their way from the piano keys to the audience during this concert series. His music moves freely between neoclassicism, minimalism, film music, and jazz, but above all bears a very unique signature. Melodies evoke images of cinematic landscapes, while simultaneously leaving room for you as a listener to discover your own images, feelings, and stories within them. For this special evening, the impressive Coleta Church forms the breathtaking backdrop in Ghent. The historical architecture, the grand piano, and the warm, soft light of hundreds of candles create an intimate setting in which music, story, and atmosphere will merge and reinforce each other. Come inside, take a seat, and leave the outside world behind for a moment. 21 November 2026 GENT – Coleta Church (St-Coletastraat 10, 9000 Gent - Belgium). 14 and 15 November 2026 KORTRIJK – Kapel Rodenburg (Cisterciënzerplein 12, 8510 Kortrijk, Belgium).
