Tristan Driessens (born 1982) is a Belgian oud player, composer, and musicologist, and is considered one of the few Western masters of the oud. After training in Istanbul with prominent masters of Ottoman classical music, he founded several renowned ensembles, including the Lâmekân Ensemble and the Toasaves collective. As a former artistic director of the Refugees for Refugees project, he continually builds cultural bridges between East and West through modal music, jazz, and early music.
