Hossein Behroozinia (Tehran, 1962) is considered one of the most important contemporary interpreters of the barbat, the Persian variant of the oud. At a young age he was admitted to the Conservatorium van Teheran, where he studied tar with Reza Vohdaney and lute with Mansour Nariman. Later he further immersed himself in the Persian classical music tradition and the radif under the guidance of the renowned master Mohammad Reza Lotfi. His exceptional talent did not go unnoticed: already at the age of seventeen Behroozinia taught at the Iraanse Centre for Preservation and Propagation of Music, an institution dedicated to the preservation and transmission of classical Persian music. In addition to his activities as a performing musician, he held various leadership positions within the music world. As a musician, teacher and mentor he plays an important role in passing on and preserving the Persian musical heritage for new generations of musicians. Pouriya Jaberi (Kermanshah, 1987) is a percussionist and interpreter of traditional Persian music. He grew up in a family where music, poetry and spirituality occupied a central place. Since the age of eight he has played the daf, the traditional Persian frame drum. At fifteen years old he won a prize at the prestigious Fajr International Music Festival, an important recognition of his exceptional talent. Pouriya Jaberi has performed at numerous festivals in Asia, Europe and Australia. His music reflects his deep connection with spirituality, meaning and contemplation.
