CW Ayon Band (USA)

CW Ayon may live in the deserts of New Mexico, but his soul is deeply rooted in the blues and grooves of Mississippi Hill Country. With a fairly simple bass drum, snare drum and tambourine, he lays down solid beats and plays catchy melodies on all kinds of instruments, from acoustic to resonator guitars. Sometimes he also adds some harmonica for variety. Meanwhile, he is building a sound and playing style that is deceptively grand. In 2010, he won a prize for best blues song with his song "Seen My Baby" during the New Mexico Music Awards and another in 2013 with "End of My Rope". Ayon is inspired by artists such as Junior Kimbrough, R.L. Burnside, John Lee Hooker, Muddy Waters and Robert Belfour, to name but a few.
