Céline is the mother of a little boy, Iago. In terms of the norm, he is "in a situation of disability". But, for her, he is simply extraordinary. Tania, who possesses the same genetic singularity as this child, is a singer. At thirty, she would like to know love. Eva is an actress. She shares with the other two a passion for the stage. Through theater and live music, these three women make us enter the parallel universe of disability. Pursued by the violence of institutions and the injunction to normality, they resist and throw themselves in pursuit of a utopia. What if a non-excluding world was within reach of imagination? There was a one in twenty-two thousand chance that Iago would be a carrier of Williams-Beuren syndrome. This chance, his mom cherishes it, she who evolves daily alongside a child with different intelligence, passionate about mechanics, holder of peerless social interaction capacities. Yet the school does not budge: Iago must be taken out of the classic path, sent to a specialized institute. That is without counting on the determination of this modern-day Amazon mother, ready to do anything so that her child has the right to exist as he is, because he is perfect like that. Like the daily life of the director, the theatricality of Chance is rock'n'roll, overflowing with audacity and energy. The female trio evolves inside an intergalactic set, arming themselves with humor and poetry to transcend reality and say, on stage, what is not said in life. From the happiness of being a mother to the anxiety of a far-right society where prenatal genetic tests would be mandatory, Céline Beigbeder leads us into a joyful marathon with, at the finish, the hope of a less locked and more inclusive society.
