Carpa Trio

Carpa Trio brings three musicians with diverse backgrounds together: a classically trained cellist, a violinist with Arab roots, and an eclectic accordionist. The intimate, imaginative, and compelling instrumental music of Carpa Trio invites the audience to dream away for a moment in an imaginary, better world. The trio likes to move in what does not yet exist, seeks connection with bygone traditions from distant regions, and forges wicked plans with shadows and phantoms. The newly composed music enters into an active dialogue between diverse traditions. Western classical, Arab and Turkish influences, South American music, and jazz flow seamlessly into each other. With improvisation as a common thread, a warm, acoustic sound world grows that stimulates the imagination, evokes stories, and at the same time resonates completely in the here and now. Carpa Trio creates a place where attentive listening and imagination are central, sometimes with vulnerable improvisations and subdued melodies, sometimes groovy and with a wink, but always carried by warm, acoustic sounds.
