Attouh
de Hippolyte Bohouo
Danse
Avec Attouh, choreographer Hippolyte Bohouo offers a deeply human choreographic piece, built around a simple and essential gesture: the embrace. En Côte d’Ivoire, "se faire Attouh" (to embrace), is to give each other a warm, tender, and joyful hug, a gesture of reunion, connection, and presence to the other.
In a society marked by speed, isolation, work pressure, over-commitment, and the risk of burnout, Attouh invites us to slow down and rediscover the meaning of contact. The show gently questions the fragile balance between self-giving and the need to preserve one's own space. How to be present to others without losing oneself? How to be collective without forgetting oneself?
On stage, bodies run, seek each other, cross paths, sometimes collide, then open up to the encounter. Arms become supports, impulses, refuges. The dance reveals the possibility of care, attention, and shared benevolence.
For this performance, experienced amateurs will be integrated into the show. Their presence will further strengthen the collective dimension of the project: making the stage a place of meeting, transmission, and shared experience, where everyone can take part in this simple and necessary gesture that is the Attouh.
