Rif is once again jumping on the bandwagon of Children's Art Day and, in collaboration with Stad Mortsel, is organizing a surprising program for young and old! Whoever was there last year probably remembers the miniature train landscape of Schelde waste, the 'Restrontrant' with tasty yet 'funny-looking' food and the performance of the Rif Fanfare. Below you will find our program for Children's Art Day 2026!
11:00 AM: See me (not) (family performance)
A wonderful dance performance for and by young talent. See me (not) turns into a physical performance about being visible, about what you show and what you prefer to keep to yourself. Young people constantly move between showing and hiding, a field of tension that is central to this creation. The performance explores themes such as identity, peer pressure, vulnerability and strength. It invites imagination and creates moments in which every young person can recognize themselves. Tickets for this performance can be ordered via this link.
12:00 PM: Free opening reception of nest box expo in collaboration with Academy for Beeld Mortsel
De students of the Academy for Beeld Mortsel worked with great enthusiasm over the past months on a unique collection of artistic nest boxes. From now on, the birds of Mortsel will get a special new home in the pedestrian alley of the Deurneleitje.
Rif and the Academy for Beeld Mortsel cordially invite you to raise a glass together at the festive opening of this special nest box expo. Come celebrate and admire the creations during a cozy reception.
Birds and humans most welcome!
