Bruno De Groote (guitar) and Ben Faes (double bass) bring two distinct voices together: De Groote with roots in rock, jazz, and sound experiment; Faes connected with the great European classical orchestras and contemporary chamber music. Their musical language is simultaneously layered and disarmingly clear, melodic and abstract, accessible and stubborn. Since 2014, they have been exploring refined ideas and radical subtlety. Their albums En Route and Symphony for 2 Little Boys, with guest trumpeter Dave Douglas, were showered with praise at home and abroad. In 2026, Time Unfolding will be released, a new album in trio with drummer Dré Pallemaerts. Live, they always return to the familiar, refined duo setting.
