Compagnie Cecilia with Sebastien Dewaele – Kerff

‘Kerff’ is a monologue supported by live music about courage, sacrifice, and course. Sebastien tells the story of Marcel Kerff, a butcher's son from the Voer region who was at the start of the very first Ronde van Frankrijk in 1903. Long before Van Looy, Museeuw, and Boonen, he is seen as the first Flandrien, driven by fighting spirit and deep sadness. The performance is about grand dreams, family ties, and life between waving corn and refreshing pastis. After ‘Marinus’ (2018) and ‘Once upon a time in the Westhoek’ (2022), Sebastien Dewaele makes a performance again at Compagnie Cecilia about forgotten heritage and small people in great history.
