On the last evening of October 1984, a boy sees his best friend have a fatal accident. That evening marks the end of his childhood. He has to be strong and look ahead, but since that moment, he has carried a sadness with him that cannot be explained to anyone. A life with guilt, with mourning, with loss, and with death, which naturally visits his life more often. In the summer of 1998, he also loses his brother and a few years later his mother. 'Treurwil', based on the book of the same name by Rik Van Puymbroeck, is accompanied by two gifted pianists, Heli Jakobson and Peter Pazmany, who not only comfort the audience with their own compositions but also themselves. With his lived-in performance, actor Hans Van Cauwenberghe gives all the emotions and nuances of this story their perfect place.
