Manifestus

Avec Manifestus, Italian choreographer Jacopo Jenna seizes the hand as an ally, capable of opening a multiplicity of paths to set oneself in motion. A true choreographic engine of this manifesto, this game of hands unfolds to weave the canvas of an energetic trio, in constant evolution. Reaching out, raising it, signaling: everything that articulates under our fingers is an essential means of sharing our thoughts, our states, our deep impressions. The primary interface of our relationships with the world, the hand in its multifunctional singularity dialogues here with precise writing. Drawing from the vocabulary of urban dances (such as finger-tutting, popping, flexing), the score is built from fragmented gestures, geometric lines, and chiseled rhythms. The three performers, Simone De Giovanni, Petra Audrey Mangoua Youaleu and Phex, give body to a movement that propagates, responds, and transforms from their own sensitivity, constantly redrawing the space to the sound of the electro music of Alberto Ricca aka Bienoise. By making visible what animates us, the piece plays with the different meanings of "manifesto," a word that already carries the hand at its root.
