Let's Go Drink the Last One (The Last One for the Road)

Carlobianchi and Doriano are two penniless fifty-somethings hoping to pull off one last big score, or at least have one last drink. Ever since the 2008 financial crisis, the con men have failed to set up any lucrative scams. When their old comrade Genio returns and a hidden loot seems to await them somewhere in the Venetian countryside, a nocturnal wandering along bars, memories, and lost opportunities begins. Along the way, they take the shy architecture student Giulio under their wing, who receives a view on life and love from his two unlikely mentors that is as murky as it is liberating. Francesco Sossai turns their journey into a tragicomic road movie full of melancholy, dry humor, and warmth: a loving ode to friendship, failures, and lost dreams. Andiamo A Bere l’Ultima premiered at the Cannes Film Festival and subsequently grew into the big winner of the David di Donatello Awards with no fewer than eight awards, including Beste Film, Beste Regisseur, and Beste Mannelijke Hoofdrol.
