Dushime presents INZOZI ZANJYE ft. Cortex Ensemble - Inzozi Zanjye

Dreams show the way INZOZI ZANJYE, ‘my dreams’ in Kinyarwanda, is a multidisciplinary performance between concert, dance, and theater, which unfolds as a journey through the landscapes of Dushime’s existence. As an artist of Rwandan descent living in Belgium, she has always moved between two worlds, without ever fully landing in either. This in-betweenness created a deep need to understand where she belongs. During this search, she experienced feelings of displacement and alienation, which sometimes caused a burden that felt greater than her own life. This performance moves through the different rooms that lie within her: her memories, her longing, her sadness, and her joy. She ends up in a dreamscape, a space between the self and the soul, where familiar narratives fade and time disintegrates into a non-linear reality. Each element in this work carries a voice, a presence: the protagonist (Dushime), the guide and the soul (dancer), the ancestors (choir and ensemble), and the world itself. These forces are in a constant dialogue in which memory, body, and mind are intertwined. Nothing is placed without purpose, everything speaks and everything listens. At the intersection of music, movement, stories, and visual language, a journey of surrender, searching, listening, understanding, and liberation unfolds.
