Daan Demeyer Hammond trio (hammond, bass, drums)

Het Hammond trio (Daan Demeyer Hommond, Artan Buleshka guitar and Matthias De Waele drum) serves an irresistible mix of boogaloo, jazz standard and original work with a big wink to the organ trio heroes of the past. Think of the groove of DR. Lonnie Smith, the smoothness of George Benson and the lyricism of Wes Montgomery - but with a fresh twist, played by 3 very experienced musicians from the Belgian music landscape and beyond. Daan Demeyer (1992) comes from a musical family. His father, a professional musician-saxophonist, encouraged his son in that direction from an early age. Daan followed classical piano and later, after the secondary art school, went to get his bachelor's degree in jazz piano at the Lemmensinstitute. Afterwards he followed the master's program in Amsterdam and finally his studies were crowned with a scholarship in New York at the New School For Jazz And Contemporary Music. Despite his young age, Daan already has an impressive number of collaborations to his name: Brussels Jazz Orchestra, Bert Joris, Frank Vaganée, Bo Van Der Werf, Brain/Child. "I studied at the Kunsthumaniora van Brussel and afterwards continued the bachelor studies jazz piano at the Lemmensinstitute (Leuven) and the master studies at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. As the crowning achievement of my studies I was selected by the Belgian American Educational Foundation to perfect myself in the “New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music” in New York. I performed with various jazz musicians of among others the Brussels Jazz Orchestra, OTO machine, etc."
