Eat More Trees - Food.Film.Fest

De Spaanse farmer Alfonso and his wife Yanniek stubbornly try to stop the desertification of their precious land. Their hometown La Junquera is - like many other regions - plagued by endless drought. With innovative agricultural techniques and a love for their profession, they are looking for ways to restore their soil, but can they actually turn the tide? Arne Focketyn co-directed more than a hundred episodes of the VRT magazine ‘Fans of Flanders’ and was cameraman/editor of the internationally awarded documentary ‘Duty of Care’. In ‘Eat More Trees’ he focuses his lens on the growing problem of overproduction and overconsumption in agriculture and the challenges of climate change. The voice-over was recorded by Maaike Cafmeyer.
