Design can be found not only in a museum, but also right on the street. From the benches in the park to the garbage cans on the square: everything around us has been thought up by someone, and the layout of the city determines how we move around, where we meet up and whether we feel at home somewhere. During this walk, students learn to read the language of the city. With the eyes of a designer, they explore the streets of Ghent, discover what choices a designer makes and what skills are required for that. They learn to look, think and sketch like a designer. As a closing activity, they get to work themselves with a design assignment in which the architecture of the city serves as inspiration.
