A double bill of contrasts!
Our evening begins in utmost concentration with Catharina Evens. Using sensors and electronics, she makes her piano vibrate, growl, and resonate, only to make it fall silent again. Do we hear a pin drop? Evens' quirky sound universe guarantees pure focus before the storm breaks loose.
Next, regular guest Too Noisy Fish delivers an uppercut. The trio presents their new album Tolstoy in our club. The music feels like a Russian classic of which someone has thoroughly shuffled the pages: unpredictable, raw, and honest. Peter Vandenberghe, Kristof Roseeuw, and Teun Verbruggen move effortlessly between order and chaos, between humor and melancholy. Not a well-behaved concert, but a trip with a frayed edge and a gigantic heart.
