After an absolutely stellar year in 2025 with his acclaimed Trio, musical centipede Alex Koo dives into a new sound garden with his brand-new project Kimono Garden that is as groovy as it is colorful. For this, he surrounds himself with resounding names from the Belgian scene such as Andrew Claes (STUFF.) and Trui Amerlinck (Tsar B, NΔBOU). Together they serve a spicy mix in which jazz seamlessly merges with neo-soul, electronica, and ambient. It is sultry music that grows unnoticed like roots under a sidewalk, but with the power to lift stones. Think of the playful sharpness of Flying Lotus, the warm glow of Hiatus Kaiyote, and the dreamy edges of Björk. Add to that Koo’s unmistakable urge for experiment, his boundless improvisational drive, and a good dash of stage energy, and you know that this will be a concert that effortlessly transcends the traditional jazz stage.
