Festival 2026 here JEPPE ZEEBERG | SOLO Pianist Jeppe Zeeberg is considered one of the most quirky, original musicians in the contemporary Danish impro and jazz scene. In addition to his work as bandleader of innovative Scandinavian groups like Horse Orchestra and The Absolute Pinnacle of Human Achievement, Zeeberg as a solo pianist has already made a great impression in the US, Japan, China and Europe, among others, with his unique blend of own compositions, free improvisation and an unseen live presence. Zeeberg has already released ten albums under his own name, a significant number of which are critically acclaimed piano albums. All About Jazz describes his work as “a beautiful, convincing proposal for how modern jazz or contemporary music may sound”. LOTTE ANKER, ANDERS ‘AC’ CHRISTENSEN & KRESTEN OSGOOD At the request of FIRE!, three giants of Danish jazz play together on a stage for the first time. Saxofoniste Lotte Anker finds herself at the intersection of jazz, improvisation and contemporary classical music, in acclaimed collaborations with i.a. Sylvie Courvoisier, Fred Frith, Craig Taborn, Gerald Cleaver and the twelve-piece Copenhagen Art Ensemble. Bassist Anders ‘AC’ Christensen has already left an indelible stamp on the Danish and international jazz scene, in a trio with guitarist Jakob Bro (see FIRE! Day 4) and drummer Brian Blade, the quintet of Tomasz Stańko and in the ensemble of Paul Motian. Kresten Osgood is the connecting factor in this unique trio: he has already played with Lotte Anker and ‘AC’ in various constellations, but never before have these three Danish icons shared the stage together. Mutual respect is great, curiosity likewise. Various styles and many years of Danish jazz history are compressed into this one-off (?) concert. Saxophone: Lotte Anker • bass: Anders ‘AC’ Christensen • drums: Kresten Osgood KRESTEN OSGOOD QUINTET Kresten Osgood has been considered a central figure in Danish jazz for decades. The versatile drummer has already collaborated with influential names like Paul Bley, William Parker, Jason Moran, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Mats Gustafsson, Peter Brötzmann and Brad Mehldau, and has won numerous music awards in his home country. With his all-star Quintet, Osgood creates a powerful sound deeply rooted in the jazz tradition, but also constantly seeking new directions. The clear, piercing sound of Norwegian trumpet virtuoso Erik Kimestad merges with the depth and intrepid improvisational style of Danish saxophonist Mads Egetoft. At the piano, Jeppe Zeeberg provides a daring harmonic richness. The in-demand Danish bassist Matthias Petri subtly redraws the group's rhythmic and harmonic framework. The group has been listed for nearly 15 years as one of the best live bands in Denmark. Their second album Live at H15 Studio won the Danish Music Award in 2024 - ‘Jazz Release of the Year’.
