“I really find the duo record by Artan and Thomas a gem, so I am very curious about how they expand their musical universe with a larger band.” - Programmator Adia
Voor Thomas Decock and Artan Buleshkaj, it started with a musical click: their shared love for Americana. Their first casual jams resulted in the intimate duo album Plain Songs. With their new quintet Frontier People, they are now resolutely building upon that encounter.
Yannick Peeters (Jakob Bro Large Ens. see BRAND!) and Lionel Beuvens contribute a versatile rhythm section, while Werend van den Bossche (Kin Gajo) drives the vastness of the Appalachians through their improvisations with his saxophone. The intimacy of their early work remains palpable, but thanks to subtle rock influences, the whole gets a rougher, more powerful drive. These musical free spirits dig deeper and sound bigger than ever.
