A group of young people grows up in a city that is slowly sinking into the ground. It is only a few millimeters per year, but still it feels as if the earth is fleeing from under their feet. That places each of them before a difficult choice: leave or stay? Can they even leave, or are they condemned to sit it out here? While the foundations are literally wobbling, the young people seek support from each other. How should they give direction to the present and to their future in this unstable reality?
Voor Wij de Wijken six young people under the guidance of author and director Carl von Winckelmann stepped into a collective writing process, to describe a world in rapid transition, simultaneously directionless and full of doubts. Where are we now? Who are we now? How can you still shape your own identity, if the place where you are is constantly changing? Seven other young people play the new text. In this way Het Kwartier and fABULEUS bring their strengths together: writing new, own texts and working with young people in a professional context.
