Hasselt, I love you!
Folk tales about a city often give a good picture of its inhabitants. That naturally applies to Hasselt as well. Ossekop, vinstermiek, … what does the resident of Hasselt owe his nicknames to? And did you know that even Shakespeare dedicated a sonnet to the "thick neck" of Hasselt. The story of Staf van de Playboy? Truly happened or urban legend? Must the origin of Hasselt speculaas be sought in the beguinage? How was it again with that couple that lived in sin "obbe beek"? And why is Louis Willems known as the "Hasseltse Louis Pasteur"?
Walk along on Thursday 19/11 and above all do not hesitate to share your own good memory or anecdote (preferably "in a language of our own") with the group.
Presented by city guide Francis De Laur. The walk starts at VISIT Hasselt and ends with a drink in the jenever museum.
