Guided tour with open registration: Life in Hasselt during WW2

Wed, 11 Nov 2026 · 11:00
Visit Hasselt, Hasselt
€8
During this walk, we dive into the daily life of the people of Hasselt during Tweede Wereldoorlog, from the occupation to the liberation. We discover how the war held the city and its inhabitants hostage. Together we go in search of traces of this profound past. Which buildings were claimed by the German occupiers and what were they used for? Where were German units stationed and which collaboration groups were active? Where was anti-aircraft artillery located and what was the impact of bombings? Where could air-raid shelters be found and what stories took place there? We pause at impressive memorials and Stolpersteine, and discover how people creatively tried to survive: from food supply to avoiding forced labor. Organization: Hasseltse Toeristische Gidsen non-profit organization ( HTG ) Guide: Hilde Nysten Info and reservation: hilde.nysten@telenet.be and telephone 0474 54 23 44
