Toetsenvreter Anthony Romaniuk switches between Pärt, Björk, and Radiohead as if it were the most normal thing in the world
He must be one of our favorite keyboardists: Anthony Romaniuk. Classically trained, jazz in his fingers, improvisation in his blood. For his album ‘On Modes’, he put piano next to keyboard and drew a line through music history that cannot be stopped by any genre convention or assumption. With the modes – pre- and post-classical keys – as a compass, Romaniuk couples his own music to work by Pärt, Adams, and Ligeti, and arrangements of Radiohead and Björk. Romaniuk always surprises squared. So expect the unexpected, and then something more.
