Lokman Ethno-Jazz Combo & Serkan is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. The group brings together eight musicians with different backgrounds and musical references, who have been building their own repertoire and sound for a quarter of a century.
Their music starts from the Turkish folk and classical tradition and weaves it with influences from jazz, Balkan music, and musical currents from Azerbaijan, Kurdistan, the Jewish diaspora, and Spain, among others. The result is a versatile band in which composition, improvisation, and tradition complement each other.
For this festive anniversary evening, the group looks back on 25 years of ensemble playing and musical exchange.
