Aavaaz - Het Lied of the Phoenix

The song of the phoenix embraces the vulnerability of existence and the power of renewal. It is an ode to life and to letting go. The 12th-century Iranian mystic and poet Attar Neishbouri described the phoenix in a beautiful poem. This mythical bird builds a woodpile around itself at the end of its life, raises a lament, and begins to burn. From the ashes, a small phoenix rises. Thus, the phoenix is a symbol for the life cycle but Attar emphasizes a deeper truth: the greatest life task is letting go and accepting death. Based on this wisdom and inspired by the life cycle of the phoenix, Shahab Azinmehr composed captivating music in which the beauty of life, death, and resurrection are sung.
