Barbara (Valerie Pachner) and her partner Heli (Robert Stadlober) lead a happy life in the Austrian countryside together with their two children. As professional clowns, they do not take life too seriously and know how to find humor even in setbacks. Wanneer Barbara she loses her entire family in a traffic accident, her world collapses. Her identity as a clown, someone who has to make others laugh, is also suddenly called into question. Yet Barbara refuses to let herself be defined solely by her grief and step by step looks for ways to continue living with her loss. Adrian Goiginger (Die beste aller Welten) bases his film on the true story and eponymous book by Barbara Pachl-Eberhart.
