Aure - Spring

Some people have an abundance of talent. Aure is one such person. In addition to a career as an architect, she also ventures into singer-songwriting, and she reaches great heights there too. Her debut EP 'A Few Notes' (2023) received a lot of praise and brought her to stages throughout Europe as support for, among others, Andy Shauf and Tom McRae. The logical sequel, a debut record titled Printemps, is an album full of thresholds, written at the point where one thing ends and another begins. Aure evokes a new start and shifting reference points – a turbulent journey to a safer place, comparable to the migration of birds. Inspired by the poetic minimalism of artists like Atahualpa Yupanqui, Facundo Cabral and Leonard Cohen; the mysterious power and chiaroscuro qualities of Lhasa, Jessica Pratt and Nico; and the minimalist precision of Bertrand Belin, the singer-songwriter brings together a wide range of musical influences and languages, which she weaves together as different facets of her personality. Her songs are located in a visual universe formed by the floating perspective of Graciela Iturbides photography, Wim Wenders' film Wings of Desire and the intimate nature of Katrien de Blauwers collages.
