Omschrijving
In our ‘Walk to recovery: senses’ we get to know the concept of “forest bathing”. Forest bathing means immersing yourself in nature in a conscious way through your senses: what you see, hear, smell, and feel.
The guidance is based on scientifically substantiated methodologies from, among others, mindfulness and attention training. These techniques support stress reduction, emotion regulation, and increasing body awareness. During the walk, simple exercises are provided that help to calm down, sink more into your body, and be less in your head.
The recovery-oriented goal is to strengthen skills that contribute to your personal recovery process, such as slowing down, reflecting on inner signals, and dealing more consciously with thoughts and feelings. We explicitly make the translation to daily life, so that you can discover what helps you in your own recovery trajectory.
The exercises are voluntary: you choose for yourself what you want to try out. The walk largely takes place in silence, which can support experiencing more deeply and connecting with yourself.
We walk at a leisurely pace a route of a maximum of 3 km in Averbode Bos and Heide. The walk lasts about 2 hours, with space for experience and exercises along the way.
What is the goal of the course?
The goal is to strengthen recovery-oriented skills through attention, slowing down, and sensory experience and to connect these with one's own life and recovery process.
