MACONDO TRIO in muziekclub N9

The adventure of Macondo Trio began when the Beninese drummer Angelo Moustapha de Belgische met saxophonist Sylvain Debaisieux. During artistic residencies in Belgium and Benin they developed a shared rhythmic language. The arrival of the Italian bassist Federico Stocchi completed this cosmopolitan trio and added a deep, organic foundation to their musical world. Macondo Trio blends modal and improvised jazz with African rhythms and childhood melodies. The music makes you lose all sense of time and space. It slowly brings your blood to a boil and rises steadily to your head. Debut EP 'Macondo' was released in December 2022 on the Off Records label. In 2025 the album 'Morayò' followed via Challenge records.
