There are voices that immediately take you to a place. The voice of Seán Keane takes you straight to the heart of Ireland: to rugged coasts, green hills, and stories that are passed on from generation to generation.
Seán Keane grew up in County Galway and has been considered for decades as one of the most beloved voices within Irish folk. It is not for nothing that he was given the nickname “The Voice of Ireland”. Growing up in a family of singers and musicians, Seán Keane de Ierse was given tradition with the silver spoon. From his mother and aunts, he learned the ancient sean-nós singing style, which has a lasting influence on his musical identity. Already at a young age, his exceptional talent stood out: as a teenager, he won no fewer than thirteen All-Ireland medals at the prestigious Fleadh Cheoil competitions.
With his warm, expressive voice, Seán brings traditional ballads and contemporary songs to life. His repertoire tells stories about love, loss, hope, and homesickness, always with a sincere emotional power that leaves no one untouched. In addition, he is a versatile musician on wooden flute, whistles, and harmonica.
For this concert, Seán Keane is accompanied by two top musicians from the Irish folk scene: Fergus Feely on mandocello and backing vocals, and Fergal Scahill on guitar and violin. Together, they form a tight musical whole that is much more than the sum of three exceptional musicians.
An evening full of authentic Irish folk, beautiful melodies, and musical stories brought by one of the most respected folk singers of Ireland...
