In a densely overgrown, mysterious world, strange creatures crawl out of the undergrowth. They spy on each other, challenge each other, and become entangled in a game of attraction and repulsion. Everything seems familiar, and yet something is not right. In SCHOONBEEST, we follow a hunter who aims his rifle… but in the meantime is also being watched himself. Because who is actually the hunter here, and who is the prey? With a playful nod to nature documentaries, creators Brenda Corijn and Zita Windey bring a visual and musical performance full of absurd figures and unexpected encounters. Without words, but rich in images and atmosphere, they take you into a world in which the boundary between human, animal, and environment blurs.
