Drop-in tour: Favorites on SundayExhibitionDrop-in tour: Favorites on SundayWhat is your favorite work from our collection? Or would you rather look through the eyes of museum fans like Jeroen Olyslaegers, Bent Van Looy, and Regula Ysewijn? Follow the 'Favorites on Sunday' introductory tour and (re)discover many top works, such as Bruegels Dulle Griet, the moving Christ-John group, and the Calvary triptych with donor couple by Quinten Massijs. Every first Sunday of the month, you can follow the 'Favorites on Sunday' introductory tour. Together with our guide, you will spend more time on some works from 'Public Favorites'. An intimate look at masterpieces. This expo shows the favorite collection pieces of 43 well-known and lesser-known museum enthusiasts and tells the beautiful stories behind them. Look through the eyes of... This is how a beautiful 17th-century engagement ring captured the heart of city poet Esohe Weyden. Scenarist Angelo Tijssens fell head over heels for an intimate Jesus. Het Berrefonds saw a source of comfort in a statue of the young deceased princess Bonne de France. De Oekraïense writer Sergey Shamanov found beauty and inspiration in flower still lifes. Why did they choose this one artwork, and what did they feel? Look at the collection through their eyes and (re)discover many top works. Bet you'll also come across an artwork in this tour that triggers something in you? The favorite of Fritz En, what would have been the public favorite of Fritz Mayer van den Bergh (1858-1901)? De Antwerpse art connoisseur literally collected an entire museum in his short life: paintings, sculptures, tapestries, stained glass, ceramics, chests... Despite his extensive interest, he still had a soft spot for a Flemish master who painted a world-famous war scene in 1563. Can you guess it yet? Or does Fritz choose the portrait of his beloved mother? Guest in the Maagdenhuis Het museum building is closed for renovation works. That is why a large part of our collection is hosted in the nearby, historic Maagdenhuis. Look longer. See more. FOMU invites you to a guided tour of the expos. During this workshop, you consciously take the time to really look. Without haste or distraction. Together with a guide, you linger at a single photo for a few minutes. Afterward, you engage in a conversation—through simple questions—about what you see and experience. You can participate actively or just listen. Everyone looks differently. That is precisely what makes this guided tour so special. You do not need any prior knowledge. Using Visual Thinking Strategies—a conversation method that starts from what you see yourself—the guide facilitates the conversation. This exhibition brings close the impact of political choices on women's daily lives. Through 25 monumental black-and-white portraits, women talk about their experiences with poverty, work, care, housing, health, and social protection, among other things.
