On Saturday, October 17, 2026, the now-lauded singer-songwriter celebrates his ’50 years of music’ with a unique anniversary concert in the beautiful Koningin Elisabethzaal in Antwerp. Bart, who conquered a spot in the collective Flemish music memory with his indestructible classic ‘Ik ga dood aan jou’, takes the audience on a musical voyage of discovery full of personal stories, sublime compositions, his best-known hits, hidden gems, and songs that gave his career direction. Together with his extensive live band, Bart Herman ensures an evening full of recognition, nostalgia, and class. All this brought with the charm, humor, and craftsmanship that have characterized the word artist for half a century. Tickets for ‘Bart Herman – 50 years of music’ are available from October 30, 2025, at 9 AM via www.ticketkopen.eu Since his first performance in 1976, Bart Herman has built an impressive and versatile repertoire. He finally broke through to the general public in 1993 with his iconic hit ‘Ik ga dood aan jou’. Other well-known songs like ‘Slaap mijn kind’, ‘Ogen van lood’, ‘Gele Rozen’, ‘Bartje (is een leuke naam)’, and ‘Als je weer wakker wordt’ made him a fixture in Dutch-language music. Maar Bart Herman is much more than just an interpreter of his own work. Behind the scenes, he also proved himself as a gifted lyricist and composer for numerous other Flemish artists. For example, he wrote songs for, among others, Will Tura, Willy Sommers, Bart Kaëll, Luc Steeno, Jo Vally, Dana Winner, Lisa Del Bo, Barbara Dex, Sergio, Liliane St-Pierre, Nicole and Hugo, etc. He also translated or adapted numerous foreign hits from English, German, Spanish, Italian, and French into Dutch at the request of colleagues. His stamp on the Flemish music world is therefore unmistakable both in front of and behind the microphone. During the festive anniversary concert ’50 years of music’, Bart Herman and his extensive live band take the audience on a musical voyage of discovery through the life of Bart: full of personal stories, catchy melodies, and surprising turns. A unique opportunity to experience the soundtrack of multiple generations live in one of the most beautiful concert halls in the country.Saturday · 17 October · 20:00 – 22:00Koningin Elisabethzaal · Antwerp Opera 2026: MacbethCinemaOpera 2026: MacbethLet yourself be carried away in Verdi's dark and compelling adaptation of Shakespeare's famous tragedy. Driven by ambition and power, Macbeth and Lady Macbeth plunge into a spiral of murder, paranoia, and guilt. With intense music, impressive choirs, and dramatic highlights, Macbeth belongs to Verdi's most haunting operas. After previous triumphs in Verdi's great baritone roles, Quinn Kelsey de Schotse portrays King Macbeth, haunted by the ghosts of his bloody march to the throne. Opposite him stands Lise Davidsen as the ruthless Lady Macbeth, whose boundless ambition brings them both to ruin.Saturday · 17 October · 18:30 – 21:59Kinepolis Antwerpen · Antwerp Cello OctetMusicCello OctetWe have colonised the future - today we are mining what belongs to future generations. How can we be good ancestors? And how can we make the future more tangible now? Inspired by works such as The Good Ancestor by Roman Krznaric, The Long Now, and the philosophy of Black Quantum Futurism (Moor Mother / Rasheedah Phillips), Cello Octet invites composers and vocalists to create new works around this theme. Following their successful collaboration with light artist Nick Verstand in 2024, Cello Octet returns to DE SINGEL with a concert for live cellos and recorded voices - unseen but resonating nearby. Voices from past, present, and future engage in dialogue, forming a mosaic of time layers - a collective exercise in listening to other generations.Saturday · 17 October · 20:00 – 21:15DE SINGEL Internationale Kunstcampus · Antwerp

Film: Green watchersMiscFilm: Green watchersWatch this documentary by Sanne Rovers about nature conservation in the presence of the female director. You can combine this screening with a dinner at the EcoCafé.\n\n\"Love for nature begins with watching closely,\" says Jacques Rovers, father of director Sanne Rovers, protector of wild plants for over 35 years.\n\nThis became the starting point for Sanne’s film Green Watchers, in which the director turns a feeling of powerlessness over the loss of nature into a visual ode to nature conservationists. Alongside her father, we meet, among others, the striking trio Henk, Guido, and Paul who have been counting insects for over 20 years; the flamboyant Herman, an estate owner looking for a sustainable balance in the forest; Celine, a farmer's daughter and bird protector through and through; or Nicky, a sympathetic urban activist with a butterfly garden. We share their small discoveries and successes. But we also sometimes experience their feeling of despair. Green Watchers is a poetic and urgent mosaic film about love for nature, grief for what is disappearing, and hope for what can change.\n\nYou can read more information about the film here, or discover it in the trailer at the bottom of this page.\n\nRegie Sanne Rovers, Producent Docmakers / Ilja Roomans, Broadcaster NTR.\nThis documentary was produced with the support of CoBO and AFK, developed with the support of the NPO fund.\n\nFlow of the evening\n\n5:30 PM to 7:00 PM: Evening meal at the EcoCafé for whoever wants.
