It comprises pianist Gauvain de Morant, violinist Jean-Samuel Bez and cellist Guillaume Lagravière. The Spilliaert Trio is an affiliate member of Chamber Music for Europe, a laureate of the Royaumont Foundation, a member of the Dimore del Quartetto network in Italy, and part of the Proquartet ensembles in Paris. They are featured in the Art et Vie catalogue of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation. Their first album, released on Cyprès Records (2021), is dedicated to a complete recording of the trios by the composer Désiré Pâque. In 2021, they made the very first recording of Camille Saint-Saëns’ Trio 1848. In 2022, they released a second album, on the Cybele label, featuring the complete trios by Jacqueline Fontyn, followed by ‘Augusta’ in 2024, a Belgian-Irish project centred on Augusta Holmès (LP), and finally ‘Alchemy’, their fourth album, a complete recording of the trio music by Alex de Taeye and Lucie Vellère, due to be released on Cypres in 2026. The Trio has made it its mission to perform and champion the Belgian repertoire, with the support of the Musicabel association, by including a work by a Belgian composer in every concert. In 2023, this commitment was recognised with the FUGA Prize, awarded by the Union of Belgian Composers. Keen to showcase contemporary music, the three musicians are dedicated to performing the music of our time, creating new works and collaborating with festivals such as Belgian Music Days and Osmose. Raven Chacon, the first Native American Pulitzer winner, usually tackles history and politics. With Inscription, however, he lets the music speak for itself. Inspired by 1,000-year-old New Mexican petroglyphs, he treats ancient rock art as musical prompts: 'They looked like violin cues or bass clarinet vibratos to me.' Breaking from rigid tradition, Chacon uses graphic scores and microtones, treating every orchestral player as an 'autonomous sound-maker.' Then, the tempo drops to a near-standstill. Tyshawn Sorey’s Adagio (For Wadada Leo Smith) is a monumental lesson in patience, moving with the majestic, imperceptible crawl of a glacier. Amidst the near-silence, a slowly rotating alto sax melody offers a steady hand to hold. But silence is an illusion. Unless time stops, the world—nature, the city, our own bodies—is always loud. These are the raw materials of Annea Lockwood. In Saouah!, she blurs the lines between voice, breath, and instrument, inviting us to stop hunting for harmony and start feeling the physical resonance of sound itself. Finally, George Lewis explores time as 'wear and tear': “Weathering mirrors the stamina needed to endure systemic racism—the chronic stress of a permanent 'fight or flight' mode. TheatreThe LatecomersDecoratelier – a workspace for scenographers and artists – is temporarily housed in an abandoned factory in Molenbeek, together with the solidarity restaurant Cassonade. They find themselves on heavily polluted ground. A layer of concrete prevents oil, chemicals, and heavy metals from seeping into the daily lives of local residents.  The municipality of Molenbeek is planning to turn the site into a park: everything that is built in Decoratelier today will disappear beneath a thick layer of healthy soil. Will the history and the invisible stories of this place vanish as well? Together with the caretaker, the cooks of Cassonade, neighbours and visitors, the builders of Decoratelier set to work like true archaeologists. As ‘latecomers’, they create a space to reflect on historical pollution and collective responsibility. They unravel the past and speculate about future ecosystems, life forms, and ways of living. Through constructions and stories, they search for a form to share their concerns and desires with future generations.  Can a society be built upon its own mistakes? The Latecomers is a site-specific performance in which a community explores the meaning of a place, inviting the audience to navigate this unsettling landscape of stories.  • Jozef Wouters (BE, 1986) is a Brussels-based scenographer and theatre maker. Three exhibitions evoking "the house", its public and private spaces, as well as its garden accompany this anniversary. After the house, it is its garden that inspires the third exhibition. Very vast at the construction of this country villa in 1826, it was largely amputated by the galloping urbanization of the neighborhood after 1865. A family "English-style" garden and playground for the Terlinden children, it transformed when the municipality bought the place in 1950. A pond was dug. It will be completed with sculptures and a fountain designed by Tom Frantzen. The old saddlery, which became the gardener's shed, was converted in the 60s into a small estaminet. Asleep for fifty years, it has today become an unusual place and a gourmet and festive address. The garden welcomes the neighborhood and visitors. It is a bubble of peace, an oasis of greenery, a corner to read sheltered from the trees and the noise. On the courtyard side, the house was adorned in 1876 with a winter garden intended for palm trees and tropical plants. It has disappeared today. The works, presented from September on the first floor, evoke our memories of the garden, ball games, and the sound of a lawnmower. A poignant reflection on disappearance, memory, and resilience. As cradle of ancient civilisations and major cultural crossroads, Syria has, since 2011, seen its heritage gravely threatened and exploited by war through destruction, looting, and the illegal antiquities trades. The exhibition seeks to bear witness to this ongoing tragedy while underscoring the urgent need to document sites in the face of the loss of millions of archaeological objects. 'Stolen Past', Hrair Sarkissian’s powerful installation, lies at the heart of this enquiry. Trained from an early age in his father’s photographic studio in Damascus, the artist is now recognised as one of the leading conceptual photographers of his generation. Deeply rooted in history and memory, his practice finds a particularly poignant resonance here. The monumental installation presents forty-eight lithophanes arranged like funerary stelae, creating an atmosphere of contemplation and remembrance. When illuminated, they reveal images reminiscent of black-and-white photographs depicting artefacts that disappeared from the Raqqa Museum in Syria. Founded in 1981, the institution once housed some 8,000 objects spanning a vast historical period. Between 2013 and 2017, the Islamic State took control of the city and systematically looted its museums and collections. Of these thousands of invaluable pieces, only 880 are known to remain today. By adapting a technique dating back to the mid-nineteenth century, the artist documents these absent remnants through lithophanes produced by means of 3D printing on thin translucent plaques. The project highlights the ways in which absence may be made visible, while more broadly exploring the forms of memory that emerge within communities shaped by violence. In resonance with this work, the immersive images presented in the exhibition stem from ICONEM’s 3D digitisation and reconstruction technologies, revealing the site of Palmyra in Syria, fragile under the effects of time and conflict. Through monumental remains, sculpted details, and silent expanses, visitors are invited to contemplate not only what endures, but also what has been lost. Since the beginning of the 20th century, the development of graphic design in the Czech Republic, and, prior to 1993, in Czechoslovakia, has therefore been closely linked to the country’s turbulent history. After 1989, society and the economy underwent a fundamental transformation, with the transition from a socialist planned economy to a market economy. All of these developments were reflected in the country’s graphic culture. Through original works and reproductions, the exhibition introduces visitors to some of the most striking examples of Czech graphic design and to the designers behind them. Each work is presented within its cultural, historical and political context. This makes it possible to see how graphic design and society have influenced one another over the years.
